Maple Leaf Madness

It looked like it was just another season that never meant to be for the Leafs. Another season they would have to pack their gear up early and watch the playoffs rather than be a part of them. As Toronto fans believed the season couldn’t get any worse the Maple Leafs made a miraculous 180 turn and have gone 10-2-4 in their last 16 games. The dwindling Leafs have managed to pick up 24 out of a possible 32 points through February and early March moving them from 15th in the East to 10th sitting just 3 points out of a playoff spot. And the funny thing is they’ve done so with-out arguably their top d-man Tomas Kaberle and F Kris Versteeg who were moved before the Trade Deadline. You may think this is a fluke, but the Leafs continue to take down strong teams like Montreal, Pittsburgh and most recently the Philladelphia Flyers. They suit up against the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday evening, another club that will challenge their strength. As the season nears it’s end a couple more wins could see the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs for the first time in 6 years.

Do you think the Leafs will break their playoff drought?
